The Love Inside Me: A Poetic Diary is Dr. Regina AllenWilson's first publication (now in it’s 2 nd edition) based on an "original poetic diary" she began writing at age 12. In this collection, she poetically denotes significant events and experiences in her life that expand some four decades! Her writings reflect how she dealt with insecurity, low self-esteem, racism, death, love, fear, poverty, abandonment, illness, motherhood and maintaining her faith. Dr. Allen-Wilson was featured as "Poet of the Month" for her writings The Chicago Defender in 1996. Regina also received an acknowledgement and photo from her hero, Dr. Maya Angelou, regarding the first edition of the published work – which Regina cherishes as one of her greatest possessions.
